"Governor's office wants extra $1.7M to help correct AZ State Hospital deficiencies"

The Governor’s Office is requesting an additional $1.7 million for the Arizona State Hospital to address issues identified after an ABC15 investigation.

The proposed executive budget released by Governor Doug Ducey called for the additional funding in order to hire 29 additional staff members and overhaul the hospital’s security camera system.

The staff additions would include 15 nurses and 14 security guards.

The call for additional funding is another step in reforming the embattled hospital, which replaced nearly every top executive after a series of ABC15 reports.

For years, ABC15 has highlighted significant problems at the hospital. The reports have prompted multiple federal inspections.

The Governor’s budget seeks to address deficiencies cited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which certifies health facilities.

The deficiencies included a lack of staff to care for patients and keep them safe.

According to the budget proposal, the new security camera system would fix blind spots and increase video storage time as well as “ensure patient safety and staff accountability.”

I am not going to put much time into this newest development. Fact of the matter being, that I and the staff of PJ Reed The Arizona State Hospital and Pateint Abuse are busy enough working on the production of a pending manuscript (book) based on the history of the abject corruption and associated criminal nature of ASH administrators and their equally malfeasant senior medical staff underlings, issues  that have most definitely led to stories about the burden placed on Arizona taxpayers and how in the hell we the public are going to meaningfully address such concerns  (as described in the above ABC Ch15 story). Likewise, keeping sharp attention to what the persons 100% responsible for the longstanding substandard conditions at ASH are up to today provide us plenty of ongoing investigative tasks, be they no longer in the employ of ASH/ADHS, or not. As several of our most recent articles have illustrated, not one of these Rat Bastards has yet met their accountability, while some have, in fact, only continued to function in non-state employed work activities that I strongly feel none of them should be entrusted to be involved with; while at ASH, there are still many persons- several of them still acting in positions of medical authority-  who are known to be directly involved with grossly egregious patient abuse, negligence, and utterly inhumane methods of furthering the pain and suffering of ASH's seriously mentally ill and disabled patient community.

Not much time... But I will share the formal response of my staff, posted in the comments section of this specific ABC Ch15 news story:

"Governor's office wants extra $1.7M to help correct AZ State Hospital deficiencies"
By David Biscobing. February 10, 2016

For over 10 years circa 2005-2015, high ranking health care officials repeatedly, relentlessly, and seeming unendingly characterized The Arizona State Hospital as being in tip top shape, with a rah-rah-rah theme of annually commending one another for how great the mental health care practices and associated conditions at ASH were. Until 2015, that is, at which point much of the now proven data published via my research and investigation of ASH was three years old (PJ Reed The Arizona State Hospital and Patient Abuse [blogspot]), and the related investigative momentum that my work created in drawing attention to propaganda expressed by such state health care officials, led to one of most scandalous mental health care stories in over 50 years. Now, with at least some of the truths that we've relentlessly (in our own right) shared with the world (to date) at least partially exposed in major media- exposed in defiance of the increasingly desperate attempts of such officials to smother all/any source(s) of information about the horrifically malicious character of ASH administrators (with direct complicity of AZ Office of the Attorney General)- we now see more of the fall out as it stands. The problems emphasized in why AZ's governor is now seeking this money would never have arose, much less continue for so many years, if such state health officials had simply met the most basic elements of health care ethics; their associated misconduct always occurred at the direct detriment of ASH's highly disabled patient community. All of this- ALL OF IT- occurred as a grossly egregious breach of the public trust. And persons such as former ADSH director Will Humble, assistant attorney general Joel Rudd, and ADHS/ASH Cheif Medical Officer Dr. Steven Dingle (just to mention a few), are still getting away with it, at the taxpayers expense. Arizona deserves far, far better, and I encourage anyone with sincere interest in seeing that the isssues so obviously so in effect at ASH are meangfully addressed and resolved once and for all, to contact the current Director of ADHS, Dr. Cara Christ, and current ASH CEO, Dr. Aaron Bowen, and demand that they take the appropriate action and see that these wrongdoers are fired and removed from Arizona's public health care system once and for all.  They can reached in a small variety of ways via the ADHS website. Go for it, they deserve to hear from you. Big thanks as always to David Biscobing and the staff at ABC Ch 15. PJ Reed, (author), The Arizona State Hospital and Patient Abuse. (paoloreed@gmail.com). And thanks as well to the concerned citizen who beat me to the punch in terms of commenting to the development. As to this person's sentiments, I couldn't agree more.

"Wouldn't it be far better to 'force' the current 'gubment' workers to actually do their jobs? And if they cannot, fire them, and find people who actually want to work." (concerned Arizona Citizen, February 10, 2016)

IN CLOSING: That said... Enough said. Thanks as always to Mr. Biscobing and staff of KNVX/ABC Ch15 for continuing to dutifully keep their camera lenses focused on ASH. Sad that it takes so much time and effort of a critically needed local news station, and the virtual lives of persons such as I, merely in order to make sure that Arizona's sole long term public mental health care facility does its job, as per medical ethics, state and federal law, and the general sentiment of anyone with reasonable conscience. But if not us, given the strong possibility that the current gubment workers will not, in fact, do their jobs- then who else?

I would really love input of any kind from anybody with any interest whatsoever in the issues that I am sharing in this blog. I mean it, anybody, for I will be the first one to admit that I may be inaccurately depicting certain aspects of the conditions
at ASH, and anonymous comments are fine. In any case, I am more than willing to value anybody's feelings about my writing, and I assure you that I will not intentionally exploit or otherwise abuse your right to express yourself as you deem fit. This topic is far, far too important for anything less. Thank you, whoever you are. Peace and Frogs.
