I am a 52 year old man affected by serious mental illness, specifically major depressive disorder that arose in my life due to very harmful childhood abuse, including incestuous sexual abuse imparted on me by trusted elders. I was in Laxman Patel's care at the AZ State Hospital in 2011, and in our initial assessment session, he grossly mischaracterized the very real presence of this abuse as being due to me- as in "Patient states that at the age of 6-7, his older ------- allowed him to grope her." In misrepresenting this feature of the underlying causation in my diagnosis (which was already an established dynamic of my previous medical records at that time), this so called doctor virtually assigned the wrongfulness of this detail of my personal history to me, and did so by making the statement in his formal documentation the assessment interview itself (which I have a copy of). Such disregard for the factual data in my case amounts to gross negligence, is utterly unacceptable, and highly representative of clinical incompetence in all senses

I attest to the fact that Dr. Pervaiz Akhter willfully disregards the most clearly established standards specific to his obligations as a doctor, in flagrant defiance of the Hippocratic Oath, the terms of his American licensure (m.d.), and the only reason he gets away with it is is because he has practiced his entire career in a state psychiatric hospital where there is no oversight or accountability whatsoever; his clients are all seriously mentally ill and virtually unable to openly comment on this man's character and related skills as a physician, which grants him full opportunity to engage in grossly unlawful conduct, to the severe detriment of his highly vulnerable clients, and at the expense of the citizens of AZ who pay his salary. This man should be stripped of his medical license and prosecuted to the fullest extent of American law, and sent back to where he was raised and attained his formal medical training-PAKISTAN- where human rights and democratic ideals specific to any reasonable persons work ethic are void to the nth degree.
by PJ Reed on December 18, 2013Dr. Steven Dingle was the acting Chief Medical Officer at The AZ State Hospital in 2010-2012. In late May, 2011, a seriously mentally ill man named Jesus Rincon Murietta violently escaped ASH. I was a patent there at the time. ASH administrative staff willfully refused to alert the public, inc. police, etc., in order to avoid accountability for lax security at ASH. Less than 90 days later, Murietta brutally murdered a young Phoenix woman, this after having run amok in the PHX metro area since his May escape from ASH. It was only after I reported the details of this cycle of violence that the public became aware of the underlying issues, inc. the graphic failure of senior ASH clinical staff to meet their most basic obligations as per the public trust. As acting CMO at the time, no one primary care physician held more authority and assoc. responsibility for this highly illegal misconduct than Dr. Steven Dingle. He has yet to be held accountable. This story can be confirmed online (see "Victim's Family Questions Why Man Was Free" (by JJ Hensley, Arizona Republic Nov. 28, 2011).

IN CLOSING: Just one more example of the means by which any person subjected to the graphically unlawful conduct of medical providers can go about holding such persons accountable. Power of the pen personified. The fact is, virtually all the individuals who have been "treated" by these horrifically inept psychiatrists are unable to access, much less participate, (in contributing to) resources such as this one (www.vitals.com), for they are all confined with the walls and fence lines of The Arizona State Hospital, where there are no internet privileges, and so on. This detail underlies the fundamental fact that such care providers are able to get away with flaunting brazen disregard for law and policy across the board as a matter of standard practice, with little to no fear of oversight or direct accountability. And in places like ASH, I attest to the presence of what I can only describe as third world medical-mental health care, which am convinced has to do with the fact that at least some of the most highly trusted primary care physicians at ASH came to our country from parts of the world where basic health care ethics as per contemporary western societies are literally void. It is that bad.

I would really love input of any kind from anybody with any interest whatsoever in the issues that I am sharing in this blog. I mean it, anybody, for I will be the first one to admit that I may be inaccurately depicting certain aspects of the conditions
at ASH, and anonymous comments are fine. In any case, I am more than willing to value anybody's feelings about my writing, and I assure you that I will not intentionally exploit or otherwise abuse your right to express yourself as you deem fit. This topic is far, far too important for anything less. Thank you, whoever you are. Peace and Frogs.
