"Job Fair at State Hospital."
Preface: To all/any individuals thinking to join the staff at The Arizona State Hospital, be advised: There was a rapid and unmanaged escalation in patient on staff violence that has arisen due to severe cuts in ASH security staff, and as per Phoenix area ABC Ch. 15's investigative report on the matter, close to 800 ASH staff reports specific to such violence were formally filed in the year June 2012- June 2013. And it was the concerted effort of current staff at ASH which has most directly contributed to media exposure specific to Cory Nelson's patent untruthfulness about the uncontrolled/ and gravely dangerous environment at ASH, which has arisen as a direct consequence of Nelson's willingness to walk all over the public trust, as exhibited by his ongoing lies in the context.

The Arizona State Hospital is recruiting for a variety of staff members to work in its inpatient psychiatric hospital serving seriously mentally ill persons. The facility includes a 260-funded bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission, and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and a transitional residential program serving approximately 90 sex offenders.
The Arizona State Hospital (ASH) provides a welcoming environment and a full continuum of psychiatric and medical care. The hospital promotes hope and wellness for the patients and creates opportunities to participate in planning, delivering and evaluating services that assist with recovery. Treatment is individualized with goals that focus on education about an illness, instilling hope and improving one’s overall quality of life.
If you would like to join the hospital team a job fair is being held on site on Thursday December 5th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interviews will be conducted at the fair! Bring your resume!
No comments? As per the usual, with respect for both Cory Nelson's so called ADHS Behavioral Health Services blog, (now that he is titled as Deputy Director of that state wide agency), as well as that of ADHS Executive Director Will "Yea Team!" Humble, (wherein he exercises more state authority in the area of public health care across the board), history has proven that neither of these highly paid and trusted state employees are willing to grant unfettered and open discourse to Arizona's citizens. Unless that is, the given "citizen voice" is one that offers nothing other than gushing praise that is expressed in sharp contradiction to the realities currently emerging at this time, in the context of The Arizona State Hospital. So- again- as per the usual, I am sharing my feedback as it stands in relation to the above job fair announcement, feedback that I did in fact post in the comments section of the article itself, as follows:
Mr. Nelson: As confirmed media reports have emerged over the last 12-18 months, including those which has proven beyond doubt that your aired (documented in video) statements about staff and patient safety at ASH were patently untrue (and which have now led to possible federal funding cuts), I feel that you have no right to assure the public that the ASH facility is currently a positive place to work. There were close to 800 staff reports about violence formally filed in the year 2012. You know, as well, that in your short 12-15 months time as ASH's supervisor, you unilaterally implemented a range of alterations to the operation at ASH which have been identified as the chief cause specific to graphic escalations of violence at ASH, to the direct detriment of ASH patients and staff alike. As I asked you when I was a patient at ASH, please cease and desist with misrepresenting the realities at ASH, and DO THE RIGHT THING. Only you can make the situation there at ASH get worse, but you will not prevail in maintaining your willingness to engage in such misconduct. I promise you this. And as always, I know that you will not include my lawful feedback to the life of your "blog", so as always, I will publish the content in my blog, which has accrued over 25,000 dedicated visits, to date. Sincerely, PJ Reed. December 03, 2013.

IN CLOSING: The most disturbing dynamic about Cory Nelson and Will Humble's misconduct in the context of radically steep escalations in violence at The Arizona State Hospital since early 2012 flows from the fact the severe and consequential harm suffered by ASH staff and patients alike was foreseeable even to myself when I was still an ASH patient, and Nelson's unilateral decision to implement deep security staff cuts was in its earliest phase. And given the far ranging discontent of recent/current ASH staff in terms of these issues, it is no surprise to learn that ASH is in need of attracting new meat, as it were.
